Dear Fix,
What exactly do you mean by "Will the LSPOA finally step up and address the issue...?"
We are working on this very thing with the Chief's Office right now. As well as working towards bringing the dept. on equal footing with other area departments in having a limited duty policy for non-duty related medical conditions. We're also working on many other things including you had NO increase in insurance premiums this last year because of the LSPOA's work along with the IAFF and the IAM. We are also part of the insurance committee task force that is evaluating our current insurance and looking to what best suits the members needs now and in the future. We are also in the process of working for our formal recognition from the city as the representative of officers and sergeants.
Give one of the board members a call and we'll be happy to let you know everything we are doing on the member's behalf. The list is fairly extensive.
We are extremely active in representing our members interests and needs.
