There are no projected dues increases on the horizon. I will attempt to address what seems to be your underlying concern, though. I think logic dictates that, from time to time, there will have to be dues increases. The costs of things like pre-paid legal go up, just like the cost of everything else goes up. I don't have the timing in front of me, but I know it had been several years since the last dues increase when this most recent one became necessary.
FYI...most of our LSPOA programs are through tthe State or Grand Lodges, which basically charge us "per head" for our Members. When they raise dues, we have to raise them, as well. The Treasurer's Report is made available at all LSPOA meetings for review by the Members.
Of course, increases in dues are voted upon by the Members, not dictated from On High by some uncaring Board of Boogeymen. My salary for acting as President remains the same...$0.00 My dues went up the same as everyone elese's. Meetings are open to all Members and are an excellent source of finding out WHY things are occurring and voicing alternative solutions if you have one. The next meeting is 1900 hrs on 08-25-09 at Godfather's. I would like to see you there.
