some may know me and some may not, I worked there from 97-99. this is a friend of mine.

That little play on words, associating my career in law enforcement with my love of golf, was submitted in response to a contest being held by Golf Digest and the USGA. They are seeking an amateur golfer to try and “break 100” while playing with three celebrities, one of whom is Michael Jordan, at the very difficult Beth Page Black Golf Course in New York, site of this year’s U.S. Open Golf Tournament. This event will be filmed by NBC and replayed on Sunday just prior to the final round of the Open.
From over 73,000 entries, I was selected, because of my “6-word essay” and an interview, to participate in a player’s ability golf test in Florida with ten other lucky individuals. To my astonishment, I have advanced to the FINAL FOUR! (The other contestants are two medical doctors and a fire chief, all from the east coast.)
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!
Beginning March 19th and ending May 1st, you can go on-line and vote for your favorite contestant, hopefully me, each and every day. The only stipulation is that there is only one vote / per day / per e-mail address. If, for example, you have a separate work and e-mail address, you can cast two votes / per day / every day, up to and including May 1st. Just for voting, you will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two, including tickets to the 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach, a golf vacation for your foursome to Myrtle Beach or one of many daily prizes.

With your help, and a lot of practice between now and the middle of June, I’ll make the trip to Beth Page Black and break 100 (something Tiger Woods said can’t be done).
