As for Mongo....probably the reason to bring him back was to create buzz and excitement in the crowd. Since the show was in Chicago, and Mongo being one of the "great" Bears players (and a former wrestler) would almost certainly have meant more money and people in the seats. It was like when WCW did Slamboree in Philly in 1994, and they had longtime Flyers hockey player Dave Schultz (of the "Broad Street Bullies" fame) as a guest referee in one featured match. Same kinda thing, I guess.
