I think one reason people prefer Vegeta to Goku is that Goku is, well, "squeaky-clean"!!! Vegeta is much more human (ironic-sayian-alien-lol)as he has character flaws.. Goku has an innocence which can get a little annoying. Plus, U always know he's going to win... DUH, IT'S GOKU!!!!!! Unless he's ill, after the sayian saga, He'll kick ass, probably because the world/solar system/galaxy/universe is at stake in almost every big fight.
