Of course there are nut jobs on the far left, just as there are nut jobs on the far right. In actuality, the bulk of the really good conspiracy theories come from the far right. I used to go down to the Tasty Freeze on 11th (or maybe 15th, I never get those right) to buy copies of The Spotlight, published by the extremely far right Liberty Lobby. They always had the best stuff about The Illuminati, The Trilateral Commission, Skull and Bones, The OKC bombing, and of course, the granddaddy of them all, the JFK assassination. And just where did my love of conspiracy come from? My very conservative mother, God rest her paranoid soul. She focused mostly on the JFK assassination. Shelves and shelves of books, plus at least 10 three ring binders of her own hand written notes on the subject. In the last few years of her life she had developed a very good theory, and had a damn good argument to back it up. A theory that I myself prescribe to.
