Well, we have low gas prices, highest home ownership ever, lowest unemployment in a decade, surging stock market, and low taxes. I don't know that there is any other direction that you could want to go from those things. The Positives: For republicans, perhaps this is a good shot in the arm for 2008. It is time for new blood in the party that can honor the principles of Reagan. The Bad:

As is the historical norm, this midterm election showed a shift in power. It may be days before we know who will control the senate, but for sure the house has overwhelmingly gone Democratic.
Several of these newly elected Southern Democrats were even more conservative than there Republican counterparts. The senate will probably not be taken in any extreme directions.
I fear for the lifes of the unborn.
I fear for funding of the war.
I fear we will now see overwhelming legislation supporting gay marriage.
