Not knowing of his marital status, I just decided to ask him... so one night after the races, after the usual hug and chatter, I asked John if he had a wife. He said, with a forlorn look on his face: "I had a good wife once, but her husband came by and took her back home." He looked at me for my reaction and grinned that devilish grin of his. John loved to tease... and get reactions and responses.

Please.... no one need be offended with this... John was teasing in his usual manner. I just decided it was time to tell it.
