First of all, I want to say I had the opportunity to meet John probably 6 years ago in the parking lot of a motel in Newton,Iowa. He and the crew were working on the car/packing up for the drive home. They were obviously very busy and tired, but nonetheless he and his crew took the time to talk with me. It was not a very long conversation, but PRICELESS! I'm wondering, if by any chance, anyone has considered having a John Bankston diecast sprintcar produced? I think it would be a fitting tribute to a great person like him! As a collector, it would be a great car to add to my collection. Maybe some of the proceeds could be donated to one of Johns favorite charitys? Just an idea. If anyone with the Bankston family is interested in this project, the company to produce his replica car would be GMP. Thanks and sure do miss #8!!!!!
