A short time later
Slade looks down at the street over 30 floors below him. He is dressed in a black stealth suit and using magnetic pads to climb the steel structure. Each of the pads are also equipped with a transmitter that sent out a gentle electromagnetic pulse that acts to avoid detection by alarms. Strapped to his back is a small bag of supplies, including the ones provided to him by the snitch. He comes to a stop right at the point were the top floor and the one under it meet.
He reaches into the pouch behind him and pulls out what looks like a small metal circle. He lays the circle flat on the steel wall and pushes a small control on it. The circle magnetizes itself to the wall as he reaches back into his bag. Next he produce a device the looks similar to a stun gun only a little smaller. He points it at the circle and pulls the trigger discharging some sort of energy.
The energy strikes the ring and it begins to glow reddish in color. The wall in the center of the ring is suddenly gone replaced by a black hole that pulses. Slade replaces the blaster in his pouch and pulls out a metal rod with a forked tip. He presses a button and the tips crackle with energy. He places the tips at the edge of the hole and drags it outward. As he moves the fork, the black hole glows larger. The darkness inside is intense and total if it wasn’t for the dim city lights behind.
Slade presses another button on the fork and taps a triangular pattern on the hole. Three beams of light cut into the darkness and meet in the center. Suddenly the center begins to open into a second hole that shows the room beyond. As soon as the other hole reaches full size, Slade crawls through and into the room beyond.
As promised, Slade finds himself in some sort of storage room packed with all manner of strange devices. Most of them are covered by a layer of dust that tells that they have sat for a considerable amount of time. The only way to traverse the room is through small pathways that cross the room. Slade uses the fork one last time to close the hole behind him, leaving the metal ring outside hanging. Next he reaches into the backpack and pulls out a few items.
First he carefully places a single contact into his good eye. Next he puts a strange looking glove on his right hand. Lastly he places a large metal gauntlet over his left hand. The gauntlet is made from some sort of strange black metal. Slade makes his way across the room, keeping to the center of the path so as to disturb nothing. He reaches the door and places his left hand on the interface
“Good evening Dr. Richards…”
A Few Moments Later
Using the hand print, Slade makes his way through the top floor of the Baxter building. His specialized goggles light the invisible trip beams and other security measures. Fortunately thanks to his informant, Slade is also assured that Reed would be out for the evening on date night with Sue. He makes his way according to the blueprint to his final destination, Reed’s gate.
The gate looks like it came straight out of the Stargate TV show, although much smaller. Slade approaches and uses the contact in his eye to activate it. The gate flickers to life with a surface of water like appearance. There is a slight ripple effect and it glows with an eerie blue light. Slade walks up the small ramp and through the portal.
The room Slade finds himself in is made out of solid steel with only one massive door exiting. As soon as he enters the room, the door begins to open. In walks a figure dressed in heavy body armor and a stun baton belted to his side. “Hey Dr. Richards, I didn’t know you were working late…” The words die on his lips as Slade launches a ninja star with a flick of his wrist. His aim is true and it sinks into a joint were the neck meets the helmet on his body armor. The man slumps dead before he even hits the ground.
Slade checks the open door and finds an empty passage way that goes left and right with many doors. He closes the door and begins to remove the man’s uniform. He wipes away the blood on the neck and does his best to cover up the hole. As he puts it on, it fits loosely but will serve it’s purpose. He takes a few things out of his bag and leaves it in the room with the body.
Slade returns to the hallway dressed in the guard’s suit and heads to the left. He passes an intersection before coming to the main guard station. Two other men in the exact same uniform sit behind a large desk covered in computer screens.
“What is Dr. Richards doing here so late,” one of the men asks.
“Yeah I swear he was telling Dr. Pym that he and Susan were going to see…”
The man doesn’t even get a chance to finish his sentence before the assassin strikes. Slade sends a tiny blade, no larger than an average adult’s thumb flattened, arcing into the far guards wind pipe. The second guard he quickly strikes in the throat with a lightning fast chop. He finishes the man by breaking his neck with a quick twist. He glances at the monitors to find the other three guards in the breakroom eating, just as promised. He checks his watch before he starts off down the hall to the maximum security portion.
