Star City, Tarver Industries
“Easy boys, I’m not a chew toy,” Oliver says, putting his hands in front of him to appear as non threatening as possible. His midnight excursion into this warehouse has taken a turn for the worst now that he was discovered by the pair of guard dogs. Now he was looking for a way to get away from them with out hurting them but that might prove to be a bit tricky. Making his move quickly, Ollie leaps up and grabs the rack above to pull himself up. The dogs graze the emerald archer as he pulls himself up to safety.
“Sorry about this one guys,” Ollie says pulling a gas grenade out of his quiver. He fires the arrow into the floor and the gas quickly does it’s work, leaving the two dogs slumbering on the floor. Not wanting to wait for the gas to dissipate, Green Arrow works his way through the rack and jumps out into another aisle. Oliver knocks another arrow as he starts to move once again.
Oliver reaches the charging bay and finds several rows of machines plugged in. He takes a quick stroll between the rows to check for anything amiss. The machines are parked in an orderly fashion making the search go quickly and Oliver is on his way to the office area. He keeps his pace even as he scans with his eyes and ears for any sign of movement. He spots nothing as he reaches the office section.
The offices are only one story high so there is a lot of dead space above them. Ollie pulls a hair pin from one of his pockets and quickly unlocks the door. Before opening the door, he retrieves the blowgun from his pocket and fits another dart into it. Placing it to his lips, he cracks the door open just slightly. Looking up, Oliver takes aim at the camera just above the door. He sends the dart streaking into the camera disabling it.
Oliver steps onto the carpet of the office, his bow once more in his hands. He clicks of the light switch on the wall to his right and looks at the hallway. There is a door to his immediate left and there are four others staggered down the hall on either side before the hall turns left. Oliver tries the door on his left and throws it open quickly. It is a small supply closet filled with office materials on one side and janitorial on the other.
Leaving the door open, Ollie works his way down the hall checking the doors as he goes. They are all small offices with the exception of one that is an IT office. Two large servers and two desk top computers all plug into to the wall at a large junction box. The room is dark expect for the light coming from one of the screens that is turned on. There is a faint odor of burnt wires he notes as he edges around to look at the screen.
‘I’m sorry that you seem to have gotten the location of our meeting mixed up. I am currently in you office eagerly awaiting your presence. To insure your timely arrival and your discretion, I have placed the night time staff in a room that is wired to explode should you attempt to play the hero. You have until exactly 12:15 to arrive or I will have to resort to draconian levels of inspiration.”
Oliver feels a cold sweat trickle down his brow as he checks his watch. Just over thirty minutes he notes, his mind running in fifty different paranoid directions at once…
A short time later
Brion Markov grits his teeth as he strains against the cell door again, feeling it almost ready to give. Brion had come to the realization that giving up was not an option late last night. Ever since then, Geo had been working every time Deadshot was not in the room. Either the assassin didn’t have surveillance in the room or he was amused by Brion’s attempts. With one last huge push he feels the door begin to give way but stops just short.
“He jacka^&, I’m hungry,” Brion yells. He starts to bang on the bars beside the door while continuing to yell for his captor. The door opens and in walks Deadshot, a casual pace to his gate. “Get me something to eat.”
“Glad to see all of the fight hasn’t left you just yet.”
“When I get out of here…”
“You’ll what? That little cocktail I gave you has made you a normal every day person, no more super powers. I eat normal people for breakfast let alone spoiled rich brats like you.”
“Why don’t you come over here and let me out and we’ll see just how tough you are.”
Deadshot tilts his head back and laughs heartily. “You can’t be serious. You think you can goad me into fighting you, are you kidding. I am being paid to baby-sit you until Slade has finished his business why should I risk my paycheck?”
“Because you can’t stand the idea of not knowing if you can really take me even if I am without my powers.”
Deadshot stalks closer to the cage, fist fists clenching and a sneer on his face. As the assassin makes his way to the front of the cage door, Geo surges into the door knocking it off the hinges. The door and Geo slam into Deadshot driving him into the floor and knocking the wind out of him. Brion grabs at Deadshot’s wrist, trying to get the pistol from the wrist holster. Brion succeeds and he brings the pistol up to Deadshot’s forehead.
“I’m gonna blow your f%^king brains out if you don’t stop fighting.” Deadshot relaxes and Brion shifts even more of his weight on the bars to add to the pressure on assassin. “You’re going to answer my questions.”
“What ever just calm down.”
“Were are we?”
“We’re in a subbasement at Queen Industries.”
“You’re lying,” Brion says pushing the barrel of the pistol harder into the villain’s head.
“No I swear it, Slade broke the security of this place weeks ago.”
“Were is he.”
“He plans on luring Green Arrow here tonight for a confrontation…”
