Previosuly on Justice League:

Deep in the harsh deserts of Egypt, an ancient god has been awakened by a piece of the surviving living technology that is Brainiac. Sending out a distress signal, he lured several members of the league to Horus’s Temple, where he devised a trap. Awakening the god known as Horus who believes it is his time to re-walk the earth. He is shocked to feel the path of gods leave the minds of mortals, anger given true form as intruders trespass upon his land. Using his own abilities he takes control of the league, one member at a time, all of which he pits against what he believes to be the living creation of the gods and fellow member of the league Donna Troy. However his plan is foiled, as armed in single combat, Donna despatches her fellow teammates one at a time, now weakened and angrier than ever the god Horus has fled back to his temple, all the while unaware that it is Brainiac who pulls the strings. At the same time Donna Troy finds herself forced to take shelter in Horus’s Temple and despite warnings delves deeper in to his abode, upon instruction from Braniaic the god takes a final form and prepares to take on Troy by himself.
And now the conclusion…

Horus Temple
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
“I am an Amazon, I will not fall easily and I kneel to no man” taking no time to act, the young warrior charges forward, her fist connects with the gods lower jaw, her titan strength staggers the man. He reels backwards, his feet shifting in the light sand that has settled on the floor over the years.
The god smiles as he spits blood down to the floor, “I see you will be a challenge, relinquish your faith and bow before me and you will stand by my side. Together we shall force the will of man to return to the heavens”
“You talk to much…HAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” sliding forward troy brings her body low, as she raises up she snaps her leg, striking the side of the mans temple, she uses the speed of the momentum to bring up her body, swinging both arms now clasped together. Like a bludgeon weapon, it to strikes its mark. The body of the young man is uprooted from his spot and sent crashing into a support beam.
“Tornado, any word on J’onn” she directs her question to the severed head of the android that rest back along the great hall.
“Interference is increasing exponentially, I am detecting a second technological system within the area”
“Keep working on punching through, we need back up”
“You have no idea” catching her off guard the god grabs hold of her head, with it he simply picks her up and swings, like a hammer hitting its anvil, Troy’s body is repeatedly slammed in to the solid stone floor, her scream silenced with every repeated strike. Satisfied she is injured beyond her ability to strike back, the god given male form stops his act of aggression.
“Well done, now bring the androids head closer to me” the small piece of alien metal seems to glow with unearthly energy as it speaks.
“Why should I do as you ask, I have defeated the gods chosen champion and still I am un-worshiped, my power fades even as we speak”
“Then act quickly so that I can transfer my essence into the androids stable matrix, before we both lose what little life we have”
The god steps over Donnas body, instead moving up the hall, once there he grasps Red Tornado’s severed head, before walking back into his temple, his body seems to fade as maintaining his corporeal form almost depletes what little power he has left.
“I have done as you ask, now I will ask you one last time, enact the words of power and bring me back to life”
“I was created for a single purpose, but before I can carry out that act I need to destroy the Justice League. For to long they have stood in my way and now I have access to one of their own, by the time they realise I walk amongst them it will already be to late. It was I that brought the people into your temple and now that I have what I need, I no longer have need for you”
“Foolish machine, I will destroy you”
“You will do no such thing, for I have calculated every last detail. You have wasted the last of your energy fighting Donna Troy and now without access to your true form or a place to rest, you shall simply fade to dust.”
“I will kill you” the young man charges forward, but with every step he takes he slowly unravels until by the time he reaches the small artefact he is but a cloud of energy, unable to take any act of retribution against the one who has betrayed him.
“Now then android, try not to resist”
“You will not possess me”
“Foolish machine, do you really believe you have a choice?”
The tone in Brainiacs voice is almost patronising, as the vessel he is now contained in begins to glow a blazing gold, energy dances across its surface, as Tornado screams. The transference begins almost immediately.
“Silence Red Tornado, for I am now in control”
The androids head suddenly stops screaming as his eyes glow a burning gold before both the severed head and the artefact lose power completely and drop to the floor.

Several Hours Later: JLA Watchtower infirmary:
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
“Wakey wakey sleeping beauty”
“Oh my head, what the hell happened”
“We thought maybe you could tell us, J’onn was finally able to break through the interference. But by the time he did every member of the league was unconscious. You, Hawkgirl, even Tornado was off line.”
“Oh my god, Ted, Tornado it was me that busted him up. Same with Hawkgirl some creature was down in that temple and he was claiming to be a god, he’d possessed both Red and Shayera, I had no choice but to defend myself”
“Its ok, Shayera is fine, she’s already back on active duty in fact and as for red, well Mr Terrific already has him connected up to the main computer performing a diagnostic, we should have him up and running within a day or two. But how are you feeling? You took a real pounding down there”
“Nothing I couldn’t handle, just wish I knew why he was so angry and what it was he was trying to achieve, was their anyone there when you arrived?”
“Nope, we scanned that entire temple and not a thing showed up, but there was a strange piece of machinery, I’m talking way more advanced than anything we have on the tower. But its dating shows it to be years old.”
“Where is it now?”
“Well Bruce seemed to think their was something familiar about it, so he took it back to that cave of his for analysis, right now however I suggest you get some rest”
“Will do Ted, oh and when you manage to get Red online tell him I’m sorry”
“Sure thing, now rest”

“Computer are you finished running that level one diagnostic yet?”
“Negative”
“What? Reds head shouldn’t take you more than two hours tops and its already pushing close to three. What’s taking the most advanced piece of technology I could dream up so long on such a basic task?”
“File corruption in main data stream, unknown binary strain. Probability test suggest thirty seven percent chance of watchtower computer systems being compromised if we continue with diagnostic”
“What, aint no way in hell my systems going to be compromised, so carry on with the damn diagnostic, its red’s life were talking about here”
“Continuing diagnostic…. Warning main firewall breach, unknown Binary code..111001 10001 100211 10001”
“What the, computer purge main system, quarantine main computer hard drive and…”
“”System restore, all systems back on line. Unknown binary code purged”
“Thank god for that, now continue with the diagnostic of Tornado’s head”
“Scan initiated”
