Desperate Eyes watch her. He has followed her from her adoptive kingdom across the ocean. He does not know what it is she seeks but he knows he seeks her.
The surface dwellers call it Galypagos, a paradise of creatures, sea and land unlike any on the planet. Strange occurrings happen here.
None stranger then the day Mera first appeared in our dimension. A worm hole opened from her world and she stepped through it. She fleed her world, her parents, her kingdom destroyed by a demon.
She loves this place, it is as close to home as she can get. Some of the aquatic animals that make the Galypagos home are from her home. She feels the connection and knows that the worm hole must open, allowing some of the creatures from her world to pass through to this one.
She searches eagerly, impatiently.
The man stalking her knows that her guard is down and moves in closer.
Like a spider on a web, she feels the ripple effect of his movement through the change in current caused by his body's denseness.
Her senses go on high alert, water begins to swirl around her hands in a violent clockwise vortex..
She turns to look into the eyes of her ex-love...
Her eyes deceive her for a moment. His hands reach out to grab her..
It is Orin's eyes but not Orin...The purple suit, the orangey facial hair.. he could pass for Orin but she knows it is not him..
She backs away, confused...
'Who are you??', she hisses.
The man confidently approaches her..
I am everything that your King is not. I am the leader of Atlantis, the King of the Seven Seas. You are my Queen and I will give you everything that you want... I am called Barracuda.
Allow me to take you to your throne in my world.. my beloved Mera.
Mera's mind rushes a way for a split second as she tries to figure out who or what Barracuda is.. Suddenly it comes to her..
Villains from another dimension, the same as our heroes..the Crime Syndicate... I remember Orin's tale of their exploits..
The swirling vortex around her hands become more violent as Mera ponders her move..
