Looking back at Atlantis, perhaps for the last time, the Sea Queen sighs and tries to hold back her tears.
She swims southward to the warmer waters of the great deep blue. Her mind fixed on one thing...
'The portal home, my real home!'
As her emotions become calmed and her mind transfixed on the journey ahead the ocean life rejoins her. Soon she swims with a pod of whales.
A storm brews overhead, within the surface world. A world she has learned not to trust. She loses herself in thought...
'My own people are no different then the tera-beings.. But they never really were my people. My people, my home...my world awaits on the other side of the portal.'
Mera picks up her pace. She is as swift as her ex-husband, if not swifter in the ocean.
If she had the ability to communicate with the marine-life around her, she would know that she is being watched and danger awaits her.
Although she can't communicate with her marine friends, she can read their emotions, just as she can read theirs. She knows that the aquatic life is on high alert.
She moves swiftly through the warmer currents, every now and then watching over her shoulder.
The tempest from the surface world now effects her world. The currents become stronger, swirling against her will to swim.
She continues her pace. The smaller fish bob and weave, sometimes passing her other times seemingly swept away by the rough currents.
200 YARDS BEHIND
He watches her. Ducking and weaving amongst both animate and inanimate objects. He follows, just keeping her in sight. The fish move around him, stopping and staring at him until the communication is complete.
The fish dart off ahead and return to him to give a report and then dash off again to repeat their orders..
He follows and he must quicken his pace for she moves swiftly like the tides..
He moves like a shark, stalking his prey. In the shadows and among the other sharks. His orange hair flows with the current.
He has her scent and begins to close in..
Mera, you will be mine....
