“Find the ring. It’s the planet’s only hope.” Kept going round and round through Kyle's head as he continued his long walk away from the hospital, which was now in the distance behind him.
After walking for about five minutes, he finally reached another point of civilization, making his way towards a convenience store on the corner.
As he walked through the automatic doors, a chime sounded, alerting the cashier of a new customer walking through.
Kyle moved his head towards the man behind the counter, hopefully not making complete eye contact long enough for him to notice something different in Kyle.
The whithered old man looked back at him as he greeted him, “Hello, sir. Welcome” he said in a raspy voice, coming from years of cigarette smoking and tobacco use.
Kyle made his way through the first aisle, which was mostly chocolate candies, and made his way to the back of the store.
He continued to look around like a regular customer, trying not to attract attention towards him.
But someone coming in after midnight with sunglasses on wasn't someone you would really leave alone in a store. The old cashier continued to follow Kyle with his eyes, shifting his body from the stool he was sitting on and up onto his legs, which seemed difficult for him, as he winced for a second as he stood up.
His face giving off a painful look, he knew his old age was becoming a problem for him.
But he didn't give it any attention, continuing his surveillance of Kyle inside the corner store.
With Kyle making his way past every door which led to cold soft drinks and beer, another man stepped into the store, looking even more suspicious as he had a hooded sweater and glasses on.
The cashier didn't notice the other gentleman approach him until he was right in front of him and blocking his view of Kyle.
The man looked down at the hooded head of the customer.
“Yeah, what can I help you with?” asked the old cashier.
The man stood there for a second and hesitated to answer. He began to look around and made contact with the back of Kyle's head for a split second before he turned back as he pulled out his hand from his front sweater pocket and pointed a pistol and the cashier.
“Give me all of your f***ing money!!!” yelled the gun toting man.
Kyle quickly turned around and saw the incident occurring in front of him.
He stood there, stone like.
The surprised cashier looked over at Kyle and then made contact with the barrel of the gun being pointed at him from only a few feet away.
He shuffled his hands towards the register to pull all the money out of the till and place it in the newly placed brown bag on the counter by the gunman.
The robber quickly started to become anxious as he continued to berate the cashier to hurry up and hand over the money, he also began to look around seeing if anyone new was in the building.
When he noticed Kyle in the back just looking at him, he decided to point the gun away from the cashier and now to Kyle.
“Hey you! Come over here!” The man said, directing Kyle over with his gun.
Kyle did as ordered and walked over next to the counter with his hands to his side, to show he had no weapon.
“Calm down...” said Kyle as he looked at the now sweating gunman.
He turned quickly back to the cashier who had placed all of the money into the bag and moved back from the counter.
“Thanks old man” he said with a high pitched laugh.
His smile soon became a serious look as he pointed the gun at the scared old man and looked as is her was going to pull the trigger.
The cashier put his arms up in the air, showing the fear in his eyes and began to produce a glimmer under his eye socket, as tears started to show.
With the blink of an eye, a quick fist came crashing through and struck the gunman In the face, throwing him a few feet into the air and onto his back.
Kyle came through with the punch, walking forward as he retracted his arm back.
The gunman quickly regained his eyesight and pointed the gun towards the green eyed glowing face of Kyle and pulled the trigger.
BANG!!!
In time precision, Kyle jerked his head out of the way as the bullet travelled towards his head.
His glasses shattered and fell to the ground as the bullet managed to scrape them as he moved his head out of the way.
Both the scared cashier and gunman looked at the now broken sunglasses hitting the ground, and made their way back up to Kyle's face.
Suddenly, Kyle walked up towards the gunman and picked him up with his left hand and pulled back a fist with his right hand, waiting to strike, as the scared robber was now looking at a very odd image.
Kyle's eyes began glowing bright green and looked intense as he was about to strike the man.
He cocked his arm back, held the man in front of him by his shirt, and released his arm...
