Still recovering from injuries suffered in that battle two years ago and haunted by visions that may be a God or a mad ghost of his past Marc Spector is Moon Knight once more. Now Marc Specter endlessly scours the night, searching for evil. His body and very identity shattered from his service to Khonshu, who controls his life...and just may bring about his death.
Grant Mansion, Long Island
Werewolf by Night had succumbed to his animalistic rage completely. He was no longer Jack Russell or anything else he had ever resembled. He was completely out of control. Dean hadn’t taken his shot during the transformation like he should have. Maybe getting to know the man behind the monster was a little too much for him. But when it came down to it if it was him or Jack Dean knew where his choice would fall. There wasn’t much Dean could do other than squeeze the trigger as the beast leapt for him. The echo from the shots was deafening as the hair covered beast fell atop him. Dean struggled to keep its gnashing maw away from his neck. His arms were soon slick from the mixture of blood and saliva as with each passing second the teeth came closer to their mark. “This may not kill you…” Dean summoned every once of strength he had left and managed to twist the barrel of his pistol between the jaws filled with teeth. “…but it sure as hell will hurt you!” Dean squeezed the trigger and the werewolf flung away from him slamming into the wall across the room. Dean was so surprised his eyes widened and he looked at his pistol with a raised eyebrow. Then he saw Sam and his real savior. Brother Voodoo held Jack in place against the wall but a motion of his hand. The summoned form of his dead brother Daniel boosted his own along with the power of Loa kept the werewolf in check as Brother Voodoo began his chant. “Loup Garu Sans Malanto Klatu Nikto Verata!” Plumes of smoke filled the room as towering flames surround Brother Voodoo and his werewolf captive. Impervious to the fire because of his connection to Loa he directed them toward Jack. The fire caught hold and began dancing across the werewolf’s fur covered body. With each passing second Brother Voodoo’s voice raised in volume as he tried to purge the evil from him with the fire. Dean couldn’t help but think of Raiders of the Lost Arc as he watched the flames literally melt the wolf from Jack’s body to reveal the man beneath. “Now that’s something you don’t see everyday.” Jack collapsed to the ground and Brother Voodoo backed away his gait was unsteady enough that Sam took hold of his arm to steady him. “Are you okay? That was incredible.” “Yeah we’ve seen a lot of stuff before but that might well have taken the cake.” Dean helped Jack to his feet. “You know you got lucky with them showing up when they did right?” Jack exhaled and looked up at the three men surrounding him and somehow managed a smile. Brother Voodoo sent Daniel away with a wave of his hand then turned to the others. “I’m afraid I am too weak to get us to where we are needed next.” ***** Moon Knight emerged from the shadows toward the zombies as the fence gave way. He met them with a frenzy like they had never known. The first few fell back from well aimed crescent darts to the heads even though they did not drop. The next few met their final end from brutal blows from his truncheons. Soon their numbers swelled to where his breath became labored. His blows began to weaken yet theirs continued to grow in strength and numbers that were successfully able to thwart his defenses. Moon Knight punched with his cestus gloves having lost the truncheon in the midst of the ferocity of the assault and still they came. There was no begging, no pleading as Moon Knight felt the sheer number of zombies collapse in atop him. -TBC-
