“Those won’t solve everything Dean.” Jack smiled and shook his head. The kid had spunk he’d give him that. Reminded him of himself a few years back before the lycanthropy. “Well forgive me for thinking they will.” Dean looked down and saw he still had some of the powder on him from the window that Sam had climbed through when this all started. He began brushing himself down with his free hand. “This stuff almost seems like its sticking to me.” “What stuff--” Jack looked over just as some of the High John root floated onto his skin. His eyes bulged and he sucked in a lung full of air. His body tensed and everything went red as he felt himself loosing control once more. “NooooooOOOOoooOOO!”
Dean jumped back as he looked at Jack. The wolf like howl filled the space and echoed off the walls. He raised his pistol and took aim down the barrel as Jack transformed before his eyes.
***** Sam steered the Impala down the long drive toward the gates. His mind racing as he pressed the accelerator to the floor as the gates opened. Suddenly he found his vision obstructed by a large fog bank and he slammed on the brakes having lost sight of his surroundings. The headlights fell upon a dark skinned man dressed in Haitian garb.
Sam jerked the wheel to the left and barely missed the man who did not flinch in the least as the Impala screeched to a halt beside him. He exhaled and slowly turned his head to look at the man. “I am called Brother Voodoo.” Jericho Drumm stood at the window looking in. “And I have come to help.” “You just saved me a whole lot of time tracking you down.” Sam reached over and unlocked the passenger door. “Get in!” *****
Moon Knight activates the autopilot as the VTOL sets the Mooncopter into place above the warehouse and factory below him. From this height he could see the forms of a few people milling about below him. They seemed slow and deliberate in their movements and he knew he had the right place. Toro had formed a small army of zombies to protect himself from outsiders. Too bad for him Moon Knight was in the mood for a good fight and with his opponents already being dead he didn’t have to hold back whatsoever. Moon Knight stepped to the hatch as it opened. Clipping a line to the frame of the hatch he leaps out and begins his descent.
At the last possible moment he extended his arms and his cape caught the updraft halting his descent much like he was training in H.A.L.O. parachuting. His angle changed just enough to bring him to the ground as his feet began to move in a run toward the nearby wall of the warehouse. Moon Knight tucked against the wall before leaning around the corner. In front of him stood one of the shambling figures he had seen from above. The smell alone told him it was a zombie. With one fluid motion his truncheon appeared in his hand and came down onto the back of the creatures head and there was a sickening pop much like when you drop a watermelon as the zombie fell in a heap to the ground. Making his way along the wall his confidence building with each step. Having dispatched the first so easily he started to wonder what everyone had been so worried about. The sound of the something hitting the chain link fence to his right from the darkness made him stop and spin his head around. He reached for his light as he heard the stress from pressure being put on the chain fence. The beam from his light hit the fence and his eyes widened at what was revealed to him.
Moon Knight now knew why everyone was worried. There were too many zombies to count stuck behind the fence no doubt in protection of Toro. He also knew that soon they would be upon him as soon as the fence gave way. And there was nothing he could do about it. -TBC-
