Deadpool makes his way though the shadows of the warehouses, his eyes on the docks the whole time. Why didn’t I get the super cool amphibious part of the plan damn it, it was my information that got us here. Cap gets to go snorkeling around like a navy seal and I just stealth my way in once I figure out which boat it is. I hope there is a boat for it to be, I’d look like a total moron if I got the whole thing wrong, But at least this time there isn’t a transvestite involved in me looking like a… WTF…why won’t my inner monologue shut up so I can do this.
Turning back to the task at hand, Deadpool continues to make his way silently. He notes the sign for pier 17 and studies the dock more carefully. It is not unlike every other dock to the casual eye but not the trained eye of an operator. The first thing of note is the lack of light due to multiple security lights that have all malfunctioned. Secondly, is the large amount of cargo stacked haphazardly towards the end of the dock. It could be a ship being unloaded by people who were what to do with the cargo or it could be a way to screen out prying eyes. Lastly were the guys on the boat itself carrying the assault rifles, but in fairness it took really good vision to see them.
“I’ve ID’d the boat, it’s the Chinese writing I can’t read at pier 17,” Deadpool says in to his com.
“Are you sure,” Cap replies.
“I suppose they could have guards armed with assault rifles to protect a shipment of Crab Rangoon.”
“Ok, I’ve got visual now. Once I reach the side, wait one minute and hit the front.”
“So I just run up there like a human target?”
“You can regenerate can’t you?”
“Yeah but it doesn’t exactly tickle.”
“I’m joking you idiot. I’m going to create a distraction and that’s when you move in.”
“Got it,” Deadpool says making his way onto the dock itself. With a practiced ease, he makes his way from shadow to shadow avoiding detection. Wade moves into a deep patch of shadow created by a large crate. He reaches up and adjusts his other ear piece that Fury had given him. He adjusts the volume up to overhear the guards further down the dock.
“I don’t like this, that police chopper may have seen something.”
“Yes, a bunch of guys unloading crates on the dock. Quit worrying, we have manifests for every crate.”
“And if they decide to search the crates?”
“What the hell was that…”
Must be my queue, Deadpool figures popping up from the crates. The two men have turned and are now staring up at the boat and the commotion on deck. Wade sees Cap, shield in hand launch a man over his shoulder and into the water. Another man in a crows nest brings a rifle around to line up a shot. There is a sudden burst of crimson from the man’s chest as he pitches forward and falls to the deck. Falcon must have shown up late.. and if he’s using lethal force…
Meanwhile
From the fourth story of the warehouse, Barnes takes in the whole situation. Steve’s sudden appearance on deck had caught the men by surprise and they had gone after him with what ever was at hand. When Bucky saw the guy in the crows nest take aim, he’d reacted. There wasn’t any conscious decision on his part it was pure reflex. One shot one kill it was as easy as the old days he only dimly remembered.
The problem was, it wasn’t supposed to be. When Cap had used the cosmic cube to free Bucky from the decades of brain washing at the hands of the Soviets, the Winter Soldier was supposed to be gone. He still had memories, more than he ever had before, of the things he had done, but now he also remembered the old Bucky as well. Hell, now he remembered everything before and after the bomb went off.
Bucky looks to the dock and sees Deadpool wading in pistols blazing. The merc with a mouth clips two guards facing the boat in the legs, sending both men crashing to the ground. With the sound of gunfire coming from below, the men on the boat begin to run for cover. A second later a man pops his head up from the cargo hold access on the deck with an uzi in hand. Bucky’s shot takes him right through the temple splattering his brains all over the deck.
“Barnes this is Stark come in.”
“Barnes, over,” he replies into his com.
“NYPD just got a call from a harbor patrol saying shots fired.”
“It’s getting a little hairy down here, you’re going to need to send a crew down here. We need to lock down the scene before the locals get here and screw everything up.”
“They are in route, be there in less than five.”
As the con channel returns to light static, Bucky spots the harbor patrol boat maneuvering in with full lights and sirens. The distraction of their arrival gives Cap an opening and he dives headlong into the cargo hold and out of sight. Deadpool has made his way onto the deck and is in a firefight with a couple of guys peaking out the windows of the bridge. Scanning back towards the incoming boat, three men are at the rail dressed in police uniforms. A man from the freighter leaps off the side and onto the police boat. As he strikes the deck, his body explodes throwing the cops over the side on fire.
“Stark on of these f*%^rs just kamikazed the police boat.”
“Shit, now we’re going to play hell keeping them out of there. Is the Cap still in sight?”
“No, he just dove into the cargo hold.”
“Then I suggest you get you’re a$$ in there…”
Meanwhile
Cap’s dive takes him head long into the dimly lit bowels of the ship. Two men just staring up the iron rung ladder never have a chance to react as the human missile slams into them. Even with the two men breaking his fall, Steve’s left shoulder slams in to the wall sending a jolt of pain as the bones separate. The other men take the worst of it by far, slamming into the wall face first. Both lay groaning at Cap’s feet, clutching at ribs that are probably broken.
“Kill him,” a voice behind Steve shouts in Chinese. Not waiting on the response, he dives to the left and what looks like the relative safety of a large stack of crates wrapped in the cargo net. As he dives out of the way, bullets slam into the men on the floor virtually cutting them in half. Cap continues to move further into the hold, hoping to put some distance between him and the men with the guns. Turning back, Cap send his shield spinning at the metal clasp attaching the giant net to the rope and pulley system the raises and lowers it. The clasp snaps and drops the carge to the floor with a crash that rocks the boat.
“Deadpool, get down here ASAP.”
“I’d really love to, but you’re going to have to talk to these guys with the guns that have me pinned down.”
“I thought that thing on your belt was a teleportation device.”
“Yeah but it only works like half the time and about 75% of that time I don’t end up were I want to be.”
“Nice,” Steve replies making his way around a corner. A man with a shotgun is standing in this new aisle moving Steve’s way. Cap’s reactions are much quicker and he sends his shield slamming into the man before he can get his shot off. Moving over to grab his shield, Cap can hear more men coming from the direction he just came. Charging straight ahead, Steve hits the next intersection running. He takes a left, attempting to circle back towards the fallen cargo.
“Holy crap, one of these guys’ heads just exploded,” Deadpool reports. “And I didn’t even do it.”
“Someone is out there sniping.”
“I think it’s that Punisher guy, or at least it looks like him running towards the dock.”
“Everyone, take care of the one on deck. This one is mine,” A voice yells.” Please come out Captain, I wish to see just how good you really are.”
Half expecting a trap Cap moves cautiously in the direction of the net. Looking up he can see three men moving up the ladder and on to the deck. Looking around the corner of a stack of crates, Cap sees a mountain of a man. He stands close to seven feet tall and is built like a brick wall. He wears a black suit with a red emblem on the breast. The emblem if of palm with a star cut into the center of it.”
“You may call me Ox,” is all the man says.
