(Note: This RP is a side story to my New Mythology storyline, and should meet it head-on shortly)
Maxine had thought her suggestion of Black Holes and Worm Holes being connected was a bit of a whimsical notion. She forgot that she was talking to a guy that has died and returned to life, been shot with no ill effect, possessed the hammer of Thor, and as of late, started communicating with a cosmic entity.
Her notion of Worm Holes takes us just beyond the far reaches of the galaxy, to that Black Hole that had consumed the asteroid of Supremium. Inside this mass-eating vortex, beyond the event horizon, lies the mouth of what can be described as a natural occurring worm hole. And on the opposite end... a galaxy much like our own, advanced in some respects, but stalled in other evolutionary aspects. While not the knuckle draggers that Maxine had guessed, they posses no super humans... yet.

Earth ????, an undisclosed observatory branch of this planet's version of NASA
"Sir, we have satellite confirmation of an anomaly of some sort, in sector 84-2!"
A tall, slender man with lightly graying hair turns to face the man stationed at monitor 84-2. "Give me visuals up on the big screen."
"Yes, sir Lt. Crane" the man replies as his fingers tap over a series of keys that displays the hurtling rock at near real size onto a jumbo-tron sized screen overhead.
"Supremium..." Lt. Ethan Crane mutters near breathlessly.
"I'm sorry, sir?" The technician inquires, picking up Ethan's barely audible mumble.
"Oh, nothing... I want that thing traced to a point of origin, and send out a probe to see if it possesses any usable materials before we blast it to hell."
The technician turns back to his monitor, and starts inputting the appropriate key codes to get his computer to map out it's path based on the asteroids trajectory and other variables. By the time the program stats displaying visuals, the mans superior is nowhere in site.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Professor Magus, you still have the file on Supremium, correct?" Ethan asks with an audible note of hopefulness in his voice.
"Yes, sir." The lab's own professor replies. "...And the data being sent to me from satellite 84-2 identifies this material as a perfect match."
Ethan turns to the second floor window of the laboratory, overlooking the computer terminals below that stretch out in row after row. As a thought triggers inside Ethan's mind, he absently stares out over the complex for a moment and the takes hold of a microphone jutting out of a control panel, presses a button and is patched directly to the technician at station 84-2.
"Private Buddy Baker?"
"It's Richenbacher, sir. May I be of assistance?"
"Yes, I'll be needing you in the second floor lab."
"Yessir..." Richenaker was going to ask, 'in regards to what, sir?' but could tell from the faint crackle, that Ethan Crane no longer had a com-link with him. Silently, Pvt. Buddy Richenbacher gets from his chair, removes his headset, and makes his way to the lab overhead. For a moment panic strikes him, as he's a man with a guilty conscious, and then in a flight of fancy, Buddy imagines getting a raise for having spotted the ominous looking asteroid.
At the top of the elevator's route, the doors slide open, and Buddy steps through to let the elevator drop to its resting position. "Private Richenbacher reporting, sir."
Ethan turns to face the young-looking man, with a smile. "At ease," Ethan replies somewhat mockingly, with a note of jest in his words, "we aren't the military, son."
Placing his hands behind his back, and lacing his fingers together, Ethan strolls to a heavy looking door, with a strange look of contemplation tracing his features. "I called you up for a special operation, Buddy."
Buddy's spirit begin to soar, as he imagines a promotion, and increase in pay and all the opportunities it'd bring to his family. "Does this have anything with the asteroid we're tracking?"
"In a way, yes. It's the first phase in preparing for intercepting it. We just need you to step through these doors, where you will have all potential contaminants removed, and then proceed to your training."
The young man doesn't exactly follow, but reluctantly agrees. "Does it pay better?"
Ethan forces back a smirk. "Oh, it can pay off more than you think."
And with that, the doors hiss open, and somewhat hesitantly, Buddy steps through. He's about to ask more questions as the doors hiss back closed, with deafening finality. Through the control panels monitor, Ethan and the professor can see the man yelling his protests as the chamber is pumped full of varicolored vapors. The vapors being the by product not of vaccination, but of radioactive gasses. When the fumes and haze fade, the now limp body of private Richenbacher lays in the corner, still twitching from involuntary muscle spasms. "Readings indicate no pulse, no heart beat, and fading brain activity, Mr. Crane. Do we move to a new candidate?"
Ethan punches in a few buttons that display a counting down time of 72:00:00, then turns to the scientist with his response. "...And on the third day, he arose from the dead."
