The Thing took his granite-like hand and tapped it against his ear trying to get the little voice out of his head..
Hey kid, you take up ventriloquism or something?
Johnny looked at his brother with a puzzled look on his face..
I was going to ask you the same thing.
Suddenly the sound of buzzing could be heard. It wasn't electronic, it was the sound of a large bee or swarm of bees.
The Thing moved toward the window to see where the noise originated from...
In the distance a humanoid figure rode the airwaves toward the window..
We got company kid.. It's Clobberin' Time...
Before Ben Grimm could finish saying the words a reptilian creature crashed throw the window, lunging at the Thing..
Behind him a green and yellow costumed man with a set of bug wings flew in through the window and landed..
The Human Torch snickered at the gaudy costume...
What do we have here? HorseFly and Gecko Man? Flame On!!!
The Fly took a serious stance and replied..
You have the nerve to mock us and then say 'Flame on'?
The Fly pointed his gauntlet and aimed it at the Torch.
Johnny's quick reflexes caused the Fly's hand to jerk down ward. The repulsor ray hit the floor, splitting it open where the Thing was wrestling with Stegron. The two fell through the floor to the next level.
Oh man, the insurance company won't be happy with us.. Johnny thought to himself.
Hey you guys are going to pay for that...
The Monster Society pays for nothing hot head.. tonight you will bow down to us.
Monster Society? Are you serious.
Unbeknownst to the Human Torch the elevator ascends to the levels where the battle is taking place.
ONE LEVEL BELOW
The Thing and the dinosaur man, Stegron, hit the pool below in the gymnasium. Water splashes as the two grapple in the water..
A pattened Ben Grimm upper cut sends Stegron poolside into a cabinet of dumbbells.
Ben's hand rises from the pool as he hoists his massive body out of the pool.
He cracks his knuckles and flexes his neck.
In case you didn't know Barney, Dinosaurs are extinct. Lights out puddin'.
Ben makes his way over to Stegron for the final blow..
The elevator dings and the door opens. Ben stops to look over his shoulder. The silhouette of a large humanoid is seen. It steps out of the elevator.
You're not Santy Claus but I am in the giving mood and I'm giving knuckle sandwiches out tonight!!
Ben moves toward the new intruder.
He stops when he sees that it is an ape.
You gotta be friggin kiddin me.. a bug boy, a Barney wanna be and now Donkey Kong.. I must be dreamin'.
I assure you Benjamin Grimm this is no dream.
Grodd moves forward slowly. His hands clasped behind his back..
Benjamin Grimm for all of your strength and endurance your weakness makes you a dolt..
Mister Monkey, I ain't in the mood and you'll make the perfect punching bag..
Ahh, yes, the physical approach. It would be silly for me to fight you physically. Allow me to introduce myself.. my name is Grodd and this is my friend, Mister Mind, he will show you your weakness..
Grodd, and I don't see your friend. He must've pooped his pants and left...
Suddenly the Thing falls to his knees and grabs his head in pain..
A tiny voice in his head speaks..
I assure you that I am here Benjamin Grimm, you are powerless against me..
The words echo through Grimm's mind...
Powerless, powerless...
Ben looks down at his hands.. the rock and brick that protected him were gone, replaced by human flesh.. his hulking body reduced to his old human shell..
Powerless.
Grodd he is at our mercy, tamed like a circus lion. He is powerless. He sees things that we do not..his greatest fear..
Ben sobs..
I'm human again. My powers are gone..
UPSTAIRS...
The Fly takes to the air hovering in the broken window.
Ok, fly boy, in case you didn't know I'm the best flyer on the planet, maybe even the galaxy.
I don't intend to race you Storm..
The full moon shines on the fly, casting his elogated shadow into the room long enough for Shadow Thief to rise from the shadow undetected.
The Human Torch throws a scorching flame blast at the Fly. He manuevers out of the way..
The distraction is enough for Shadow Thief to solidify..
Yoo Hoo...
The Torch turns around and is met by a Shadow Thief haymaker..
The blow is enough to cause the Torch to lose his footing and fall to the pool of water below.
Light's out Flame Thrower..
He hits the pool and cloud of steam erupts...
Grodd watches and chuckles..
He looks at Mister Mind.
I believe that we have a matching set..
