“What’s going on?” asked Kyle with a nervous tone in his voice.
“Find the ring. It’s the planet’s only hope.” Said Ganthet as he moved closer towards Kyle.
Kyle once again carried a confused look on his face, which seemed normal to him, since he was still not sure of what was happening.
“Where is the ring, Kyle?” Ganthet asked with an aggressive manner.
Kyle looked down at his hands and noticed that the ring was gone. He looked up towards Ganthet and made no movement.
“Find it.” Suddenly, Ganthet disappeared with a flash of green light, changing Kyle’s surroundings back to the hospital room.
He looked around as if trying to find some residue of Ganthet’s visit, but he found nothing.
Kyle decided it was time to leave the hospital soon after.
He moved towards the edge of the bed, slowly coming to his feet and standing, making sure his legs are stable enough to carry him. Lifting himself off the bed, Kyle began to slowly walk around, once again getting a feel for his legs.
As he walked over towards the door, he glanced through the open bathroom door and made contact with his reflection, coming off the mirror.
He moved his attention towards the mirror and walked into the bathroom.
Without looking, Kyle moved his hand on the right hand side of the wall and flipped the switch to turn the light on.
He stood there for a few seconds as he noticed his eyes.
Once again, they were glowing green. This time however, they were not producing any type of light, his normally brown colored eyes were now green.
He knew if he tried to walk out and make contact with someone, he would not be let go because of that.
Quickly trying to find something he can cover his eyes with, he heads back out into the main room and opens a closet in front of the bed.
Kyle finds his clothes in a bag at the bottom of the closet.
He picks up the bag and changes from his hospital gown into his street clothes.
Luckily, he finds a pair of sunglasses to cover his eyes with as he tries to make a run for it.
As he heads for the door, he puts his hand out and reaches for the knob, slowly turning, trying not to bring attention to his room.
He wedges the door open slightly, looking down the hallway for anyone that might foil his plan to leave.
He then opens the door wider and peers his head out, to make sure the coast is clear.
He looks towards the other side of the wall and notices that there are stairs heading down the main floor.
Without hesitation, Kyle walks towards the door leading to the staircase and makes his way down.
He passes a few hospital employees on his way down, but no one stops him or recognizes him.
Finally making his way to the lobby, Kyle notices a crowd growing in front of a television set in the waiting area.
Kyle also notices that the exit is clear of traffic and he could walk out. But for some reason, he decides to walk towards the crowd.
The news anchor is reading a story on the Venice Beach Incident, the same incident that started these recent problems for Kyle.
The same incident where he met Ganthet and received the ring.
As Kyle moved closer to the television, he was able to hear the anchor.
“The Los Angeles Observatory has confirmed they have found a possible point of where the meteors originated from, that hit the Venice Beach area, some days ago. Scientists have been able to find traces of matter, some sort of trail left behind by the meteors to a possible area where it came from.”
He moved back, trying not to bring attention to him and began to head for the exit.
As he walked out of the hospital, he ran across the street and stopped, turned around and looked back.
He removed his glasses and looked up towards the sky.
Kyle began to put things together in his head. He knew there was a connection between the meteor shower he was in the middle of and being given the ring.
The Problem was, he didn’t know what the exact connection was, but he was commited to find out.
Kyle looked both ways on the dark Los Angeles street, and began to walk away from the hospital.
“I have to find the ring...”
He put his glasses on once again and walked into the night…
