---Gotham---
The form that crouched amidst the high rise buildings was not one that you would expect to sit watching over the citizens of the city below. Moon Knight was on high alert; not only was he in Gotham seeking information on the newly formed Monster Society he also had to keep one eye out of Batman and his agents. Neither would much care for the fact of his being there if they found out but his main concern was the Monster Society and their “leader” Grodd. He felt that he was only the face of the operation but the proof Moon Knight had was an incident that occurred a short time ago where he ended up being defeated by a worm like creature that crawled out of another opponent. From everything he had been able to track down it all pointed to an alien from Venus. There hadn’t been much information in the Fury’s data files but enough for him to know he wasn’t having another hallucination when he saw what he did. He raised his hand and his truncheon flipped open as a grapple shot out from the end latching onto a nearby rooftop and with a leap he was flying across the open sky. Pressing a button the grapple released and Moon Knight landed deftly atop the lower building’s rooftop. Moon Knight leaned over and watched as two men paced back and forth, neither were apparently armed but he knew armed guards when he saw them. Besides Oswald Copplepot claimed he needed protection even though he was a legitimate business man now from those that he once ran or more appropriately waddled with. He dropped to the rooftop of the Iceburg Lounge and stealthily made his way behind the first man. He wrapped one arm around his throat and his other covered his mouth as he took him to the ground. Three seconds later he was up and moving toward the second. “Frank?” Damn. He hadn’t moved fast enough. “Yo Frank!” The second guard drew a pistol from a shoulder holster and scanned the rooftop looking for his partner. “Frank where you at?” “You should have went for you walkie instead.” The man cried out and backed away fumbling for his walkie as he tried to train his weapon toward the figure skulking toward him. A cresent dart knocked the weapon from his hand as another pierced his hand just as it grasped his walkie. Moon Knight stepped into the light atop the Iceburg’s rooftop. “You’re not the Bat!” the man staggered backward and tripped then began scurrying along on his backside. “Who the &*@# are you!?!” Moon Knight followed the man until he could scurry no further. “You would have been better off if I was the Bat.” A short time later with key card in hand Moon Knight had made his way into the offices of the Iceberg Lounge. He knew he had to be quick about things but still through enough to make sure he didn’t miss anything as he searched the offices for a clue to the whereabouts of the Monster Society. “Well, well, well. What do we have here?” Moon Knight spun around to see nothing, no one was there. Maybe Crawley was right. Maybe I am loosing my mind. Just as Moon Knight almost settled back into his search he saw a shadow melt from the wall and take form. “Allow me to introduce myself. I am Shadow Thief and I shall be the end of you.” TBC
