A few minutes later
“Ok,” is all Steve says as he walks away from Nick Fury and back towards the others. Fury had just introduced Cap to the rest of his team much to Steve’s dismay. Falcon was a trusted friend and Cap had no problem working with him. But Moon Knight wasn’t exactly bound by the ideals of right and wrong and this had led to his dismissal from the Avengers. And Deadpool is essentially a psychotic wildcard at best.
“Finally decide to join us,” Deadpool remarks. “We do kind of need to get things moving…”
“Would you just shut up,” Sam replies. With that both men reach for their pistols and draw, placing the gun to the other men’s temple. “I’m already getting tired of your mouth.”
“I’m sure that I can take this hit, how about you bird man?”
“Put the gun down or I’ll break you in so many places it will take you months to heal,” Cap says as he draws up close to both men. Both men return their guns to the holster but they continue to stare at each other.
A small dry laugh comes from the direction of Moon Knight as he looks on. “Even when someone threatens your best friend’s life you still can’t pull the trigger can you boy scout?”
“I have pulled the trigger, as you call it, on a very few occasions. The difference between you and me is that it isn’t something I find easy. Now if we’re all done, it’s time to get down to business.” Cap opens up the file and turns to the blueprints of the building. “The building is three floors plus a basement with a fairly simple layout. Falcon and I will air drop in on the roof and make our way down. Moon Knight, I want you and Deadpool to enter through the sewer into the basement. Fury says he can get you to an entry point without complications.”
“Why don’t you and Moon Knight go through the sewer and Falcon drops me on the roof,” Deadpool asks.
“Because I don’t like you,” Sam answers.
“Oh yeah, please continue.”
“Stealth and speed are of the essence here if we are going to have any chance of getting to the hostages in time.”
“We’ve got no way of knowing for sure, as some of them may have already gone to their private residence for the night,” Nick Fury says. “But it should be somewhere between seven and fifteen.”
“So basically we’re going in blind?” Dead Pool muses.
“Unfortunately, that is what it amounts to.”
“I wasn’t implying that was a bad thing,” Dead Pool adds with a smile…
Inside the embassy
“You have done very well ambassador,” the man who identifies himself as Jubai remarks. It was obvious to Ambassador Lao that this man was in charge of the terrorists that hold his embassy. Since they had taken the over, the terrorist had visibly entrenched themselves against assault. All of the hostages with the exception of Lao had been moved downstairs to the first floor.
“You gave me certain assurances in return for allowing you to tape that statement.”
“Yes I know and I…”
“I wish to see them leave when you release them.”
“My dear ambassador, I’ve already had them all released,” Jubai says with a smile.
“You murdering monster,” Lao says, taking a wild swing at the other man. Jubai grabs the older man’s fist out of the air and gives it a quick twist. A sharp twinge of pain makes the ambassador fall to his knees.
“You may remove him now and show Sun in,” Jubai says turning his back to the window. The two guards pick up the ambassador and carry him out as another man in the same black uniform with a red beret. Jubai looks over the police blockade and the swarm of federal agents outside. He laughs to himself and turns to regard the newcomer.
“You wished to see me sir?”
“Yes Sun, I are things on schedule in the basement?”
“We are ahead of schedule sir and everything will be complete with the half hour.”
“Excellent,” Jubai says with a wide smile. “I want to know as soon as your men are ready. I will be releasing the tape to the press very soon. I wish for all to be in readiness before it airs.”
“It will be sir, I assure you. Is there anything else sir?”
“Make sure that each man has his cyanide pills so that none will be taken alive should the Americans try anything…”
