Two of the most famous Wonder Woman villains, Giganta, a 50 foot tall woman, and the Cheetah, with all the powers of said animal, were fending off the cops in downtown Gotham for reasons unknown. Luckily this was happening just outside the apartment of Dinah Lance who was currently and rapidly putting on her costume. “You bring your gear?” she asked Helena Bertinelli, her close friend and partner.
“Way ahead of you,” she said as she was already suiting up.
Dinah grabbed her earpiece and communicator as she went toward her terrace. “Oracle, this is Canary. Giganta and Cheetah sighted. Huntress and I are on it but we may need a heavy hitter,” she cautioned.
“Ok, Canary. I’ll see what I can do,” Oracle replied.
“Can you get us down there?” Black Canary asked her partner.
“Of course.” The Italian beauty aimed her crossbow at the building across the street and fired a line to it. “Ready,” she said, holding out her hand.
“Always,” Dinah replied.
The two women swung down to the street below. Black Canary leapt off and managed to grab a hold of Giganta’s belt and house herself up. “Pull over!” she ordered. The massive woman barely heard her, but felt her moving around on her belt.
“Hey, no hitchhikers!” she declared and thumped Canary to the ground. She landed with a loud crash on the hood of a Buick.
‘Ouch.’
Meanwhile Huntress landed on the street and grabbed her bo staff. She rushed at Cheetah, but her senses and reflexes made her very hard to ambush. She ignored the policeman she was mauling and turned in time to block Helena’s attack. With her free hand she raked her claws across Huntress’ shoulder in and upward motion, causing blood to splash onto the asphalt. “Who are you to interfere?” Cheetah hissed and licked the blood off her claws.
“I’m the b###h that’s going to kick your ass for that,” Helena retorted and slammed her bo into the beast woman’s stomach, knocking the air out of her. Unfortunately, that didn’t slow her very much and again she slashed at Huntress, drawing more blood before knocking her weapon away and pinning her to the ground.
“Bad kitty!” Canary screamed as she performed a flying kick. Cheetah hissed as she was thrown back into the door of a taxi. “This isn’t working. We need to deal with them each together. Can you stall Giganta?”
“I think I have just the thing,” she said as she cartwheeled out of the way just as Giganta foot slammed into the pavement. Huntress switched crossbow bolts and fired the new one at Giganta’s face. It exploded and gelatinous goo coated her face. As she struggled to get it off, the girls turned all attention on Cheetah.
“What are you doing here?” Canary questioned.
“None of your business,” Cheetah sneered between her sharp teeth.
“That stuff won’t last forever, Canary,” Huntress warned.
“And neither will you!” The Cheetah leapt forward and kicked Huntress away, but Canary snatched her tail and flipped her over onto the hood of a police car. Helena landed a bolt into Cheetah’s arm, but she pulled it out and kept fighting. Her claws came inches from Dinah’s face, but she lurched back and grabbed Cheetah’s wrist. Huntress took that chance to land a solid right cross to her face. Cheetah twisted free and slashed Helena’s midsection while tripping Dinah. That’s when she began to feel lightheaded and disoriented. Cheetah took a clumsy dive at Canary, but she kneed her in the stomach and uppercut her. Cheetah simply fell over from the blow and passed out.
“What the hell?” Black Canary wondered.
“I tranquilized her,” Huntress admitted.
“You what?!”
“What? She’s a cat, right? I didn’t put her to sleep or anything, chill,” she said. “Besides, Giganta’s almost free of that mess.”
“Alright. Give me a lift,” Dinah asked. Huntress rushed towards Giganta and stood right by her leg. She then put her hands together and stooped down slightly. Dinah rushed after her and quickly stood on Helena’s hands before being hoisted into the air. She apexed right around the back of Giganta’s knee, where she performed a nerve pinch. But due to the sheer size of the woman, Dinah had to use her foot to do it. With the feeling to her lower leg now gone, the giant stumbled onto one knee. This gave the woman an opening to climb. They quickly scaled Mount Giganta with Helena reaching the top first. While sitting on her shoulder, she fired a bolt that burst with lights near the woman’s eyes. With her blinded, Huntress rushed forward and kicked the giant in the temple.
“Time to finish this,” Canary said and quickly climbed the woman’s neck and placed her head into her ear. It was then she unleashed her signature move, her Canary Cry, a devastating sonic attack. The sheer force of it knocked Giganta to the ground and unconscious.
“Wow, that was impressive,” a voice said from above. The women turned to see Hal Jordan, a Green Lantern, hovering there. “Oracle said you might need help. Guess even she can be wrong,” Hal joked.
“Don’t be silly. Who do you think is going to haul these two out of here?” Dinah joked back.
“Ouch,” he smiled back. “Good to see you girls.”
“You too, Hal. It was sweet of you to come,” Canary said. “It’s been awhile.”
“Too long.”
“Think we can question these two when they wake up?” Helena asked.
“Not sure. I think Diana will want first dibs, if she’s not busy. I’ll have to get in contact with her on the way to the Stonegate with these two. You both did great work here,” Hal commended. He pointed his fist at the two villains and a green beam of energy enveloped the two of them. “Stay in touch,” he said and flew off.
Helena stood there in the middle of the street with her arms crossed. “Just another day in Gotham, eh Dinah?”
“Just another day in Gotham.”
