“My love haven’t you been at him long enough?”
“Sorry baby but just I wanted to be sure.” Ash paused and looked upon what couldn’t even be recognized as having ever been anything but paste. “But if that don’t do it I don’t know what will.”
“You have rescued me once again from a fate that I should have been doomed to endure forever.” Sheila wrapped her arms around Ash and put her head onto his chest.
Ash pulled her eyes up to his. “Well, well, you fixing to show Ash a little gratitude for delivering you from…”
“My love?” Sheila looked as if she had just realized something. “How are we going to return from this realm?”
Ash pursed his lips then looked around the blood covered chamber before turning back to look at her. “What!?! Am I supposed to think of everything?”
“Do not worry Chosen One.” The heavenly voice echoed as a bright light flashed searing both Ash’s and Sheila’s eyes forcing her to again take hold of Ash, burying her head in his chest.
“Not too keen on being blind.” Ash tried to see into the light but was only able to make out seven figures. “What do you say we kill the heavenly lights?”
“You have managed to do something even we the Virtues have been able to do before. You have defeated all of the active Deadly Sins.” A tall lanky man in white robes stepped out of the light.
“Yeah well that’s what I do.”
“Weary your Pride Ashley Williams. They did not choose you at random.” He stepped closer and looked directly into Ash’s eyes.
“Listen Negative Nancy, you’ve got to learn to live in the moment and celebrate a bit.” Ash mocked the man but the look that he returned for once gave Ash a moments pause in reflection.
“I am glad to see you understand even if you don’t speak it aloud. We shall see to it that you return to your home.”
Ash nodded and wrapped his arm around Sheila. “See baby everything always works out in the end. I guess its just a Chosen One by law or something.”
A second portal of white light appeared and Ash escorted Sheila toward it.
“Be warned Ashley Williams there is another who seeks the Necronomicon and he will find it! He will wear a--”
The portal closed as Ash stepped through. He looked upon his apartment with satisfaction. Everything was right in the world. He had his girl back and the damned book was in the basement locked up tighter than a nun’s chastity belt.
“My love what was it he said as we went through the portal?”
“Hell if I know I stopped listening to him when he opened the damn gate to get us back home.” Ash looked at her his head cocked to the side. “You think it was important?”
Sheila could not answer before a knock sounded at the door.
“Now who in the hell could that be?”
