Feeling like he had just been knocked upside his head, Kyle quickly tried to get up from the ground, despite falling a few times while trying.
Once he got on his feet, he held on to the pillar next to him, trying to quickly regain his balance and shake his head, thinking that could fix it.
He rubbed his forehead with his right hand, as his left was still holding on to the pillar, when out of nowhere, Kyle heard a faint voice calling out to him.
“Kyle…Kyle…” He heard from a distance. He looked up but couldn’t see anything, the entire street was covered in smoke and everything past it was blurry, he couldn’t make anything out. But only seconds after, the smoke cleared, as if someone blew it away.
Kyle looked up, saw a familiar face running towards him, and he slowly began to run towards that familiar face.
He was still feeling the effects of being thrown like a paper doll, but tried not to let it stop him.
As he walked towards the familiar face, it became more and more clear. It was Dorian.
Only a few feet from each other, Kyle made it to the sand, and started to slow, as they got closer.
Suddenly, Dorian points up, and Kyle soon follows and looks.
With a simple breath, another meteor like rock fell from the sky, falling between the two.
Once again, Kyle was thrown about 20 feet back by the blast.
Kyle fell onto his back, but quickly got up, as if nothing happened to him.
The giant rock left a large crater in front of him, but that seemed of no importance as he tried to find his friends through the smoke created by the rock.
He was unable to find them, or even look at them, as another barrage of space rocks came flying down from the sky.
Kyle, who now seemed completely competent and alert, decided the best thing to do, was run.
He ran.
Trying to make his way through the circus like crowd running around, Kyle saw an opening and ran for it. He ended up in an alleyway, along with three other people.
He quickly tried to catch his breath as he held his knees bending over.
But before he could even take a rest, a very large explosion shook the buildings surrounding him, throwing everyone to the ground. All scattered about and tried to regain their footing as they continued to run.
Kyle fell to the ground, and slowly got up, holding the left side of his ribs while wincing.
Everyone running past him from the alleyway and back to the street motioned him to get up, but Kyle didn’t pay attention.
He finally made to his feet, and needed somewhere to go.
He thought of his options: Go back on the street or find another way out through the alleyway.
Kyle made his way through the alleyway, still holding his ribs and walking slowly.
As he passed two buildings in the same alley, Kyle came onto a four-way intersection, full of debris from an impact site.
He looked to his right, and saw a building smoke appear. Through the smoke, he was able to make something out.
He took a few more steps closer and shrugged his eyes, trying to get a better vision of it.
What the hell is that? He thought to himself. Kyle saw something of a green glow coming out from the smoke, which was unusual.
The smoke and debris in the air seemed to thick to be able to notice anything on the other side of it.
He seemed hypnotized by the glow, making his way closer and closer to it.
Without any hesitation, he walked through the gray smoke making its way around the streets, covering anything in sight.
As he got closer to the object, he began to have labored breathing.
Somehow, it didn’t seem to faze him at all, as he continued his walk.
The glow became stronger and more visible. Kyle put his hand out, trying to reach it.
Suddenly, it was as if something pulled Kyle towards the glow, grabbed his hand and thrusted him towards the glow. Kyle fell once again to the floor, this time only getting up to his knees, before looking up and saw something that left him speechless.
Regaining his breathing rhythm, Kyle looked up with his eyes open in front of him.
Clearing the smoke, something walked towards him.
Kyle was speechless.
There was only one thing Kyle could hear.
“I am Ganthet.”
