On where you and purple man want to take this, my battle write up had you at first use the ring of hope to fend off his mental attacks, but eventually your emotion changed to that of anger when you got mad, so your rings protection left and Purple Man once more had you in his grasp aka the battle resulted in you losing.
i dont really know where you and Purple man was going to go with this story line after the battle, he may use you as a sleeper agent, or have youc ast a spell to make him more powerful... wasnt that what he was after. anyway i can't say for sure.
