the final chronicles of thomas covinent, by stephen dhonaldson. the first and second chronicles were written in the late 70's and 80's and the final chronicles were out last year. its about a writer who contracts leporasy and everytime he hurts himself he wakes in a magical land where his ring is a source of great magic.
vary dark reading yet highly interesting.
