In the Jusenkyo valley there are many pools with bamboo poles sticking up out of them. This used to be used as a Martial Artists training ground but the curses proved too dangerous. In almost each cold-water pool there is a tragic story of something/someone who drowned there. If someone falls into a cursed pool they take the body of whoever/whatever drowned there last. The curse can be reversed by hot water which restores the person to their original form but splash them cold water and they will change into the cursed form again. There are many pools there including the : Pool of drowned Girl , Pool of drowned Man , Pool of drowned Twins , Pool of drowned Panda , Pool of drowned Little-Black-Pig , Pool of drowned Cat , Pool of drowned Duck , Pool of drowned Yeti-riding-a-bull-while-carrying-a-crane-and-an-eel , which have no personality changes and then there are the pools which affect the personality like the Pool of drowned Priest which turns anyone into a wimpy looking non-violent / nice / kind / nature-loving priest and the Pool of drowned Ashura(three-headed-many-armed-firebreathing-hindu-deity) which turns anyone into a destructive hindu deity. These are the pools that are known in the manga/anime. Who knows how many more there are. There's also a Pool of drowned Akane but it is unknown if this causes personality changes to happen or not then. The drowned girl pool will turn you into a girl that you would look like if you had been female and the drowned man pool will you into a man that you would look like if you had been born male . And you can't use one gender pool to cure the other. The curses mix , with very unpleasent results. If an uncursed person jumps in the drowned twins pool it will make an exact copy of that person with their memories / thoughts / soul / and everything then perfectly duplicated. If a cursed person jumps it is speculated it'll spliut the two forms and the person will forever be in one uncursed form and one cursed one unable to ever change and the condition's permanent.
