I have been watching and couching football for many years now. I have seen many Rules come into effect about Money that can be given for school to players. While learning about this site, and looking into the recruiting over the years, and also knowing some players, Walk-on and Money guys as well.
I just wanted to express my feelings on the whole thing. Those guys bust their butts day in and day out, SOMETIMES just because they were not on some list or werent two inches taller.
While the Money players i know, can do just about anything,bc they are on money they will still get on the field and play.
After talking to a freshmen walk-on that wasn't red-shirted. He told me that he was very happy to be on the team and that they were not dressing out in the sugar bowl. And that they were juss about the only NON-redshirted guys that weren't. I just feel that isn't right in anyway. If your losing a year, after they tell you they are redshirting you, YOU as a player i feel should be given a chance or place to be on the side lines.
I am a strong Hokie and FB fan, i just feel bad for the men that work so hard, sometimes for very stuipd reasons. and the ones to come Keep working hard, and keep fighting.
