This is sure a tough business 
however speaking for myself and my son, Its been sooo great just being part of the whole program. What an experience for a kid. Doesnt matter if your a "scout team member" or you play...you are a part of a team and you have a job to do. Never forget when Jesse got his first bowl game and someone congratulated him, he said,"Thanks but I wish I could have contributed" I think it was a coach that said "You have greatly because you give the starters a look every week (as scout) that helps them be successful" that was a good way to put it. If you make the team, then you do your job, and if you do it well enough, you will play ......
