You have to remember, some coach recruited the scholarship player which is not the same as recruiting a walk-on. How would it look on that coach if a walk-on was that much better? The players know who is the better player, reality is, their opinion doesn't matter. I sincerely hope your son gets an opportunity to shine. I begged my son to play at a school where he got an offer, he preferred to go the walk-on route. He left the program hating the business side. Don't think this is sour grapes, the hype about walk-ons is not what they make it out to be. They need players like your son and others to push the scholarship players.
