HE'S THE MAN-NING: Junior outside linebacker Brandon Manning, like many Tech players, didn't have the best of games in the Hokies' 28-7 loss at West Virginia on Oct. 22. Like many Tech players, Manning came back with a strong showing against Miami. He was credited with 13 tackles.
"He plays hard, he's gotten better with reps. He held off Aaron Rouse and James Anderson, and in the beginning I wasn't going to bet all my money that he would do that," Beamer said. "But he's been a consistent, solid, tough guy. He's where he's supposed to be most of the time, really just a good solid performer." - Mike Harris
