H1N1

Well Shane and I have H1N1...No I am not joking, I went to urgent care today after taking Shane to work...confirmed. Shane is off work again... Because we did not find out within the 1st week there is nothing they can do...we just have to ride it out..., I have to becareful because I have ashtma and I have to make sure that I don't get pneumonia.

I am a bit worried because of my ashtma...but I am drinking lots and doing as much resting as I can with two cats,two dogs and two birds...Shane is an awesome help but he is sick too and I have to do all I can so that he gets back on his feet and back to work...we can't afford to not have the money coming in...

I hope by now you and Shane (hubby?) are feeling better! How do they tell the difference between the regular flu and the Swine flu?

they do a swab of your nose.
Hubby is feeling lots better then me...the cough is holding on, and I still tire easy.

They can tell which type of flu virus it is by testing the swab. Symptoms are the same for seasonal and H1NI, and people with underlying conditions at risk for flu complications (such as pneumonia) need to take precautions, watch for those complications, and see their doctors whether they have H1N1 or seasonal flu.

The only other difference in H1N1 and seasonal flu is the extreme media hype of H1N1 that's blown the perception of the risks of H1N1 way out of proportion.
