Thank you for explaining dreams and dream states! Compared with you, I only sometimes remember my dreams. The ones I remember have color, not greys. I think it would make sense to write the content down before they are forgotten in the hustle and bustle of daily activities. The ones I remember longest are the ones involving dilemmas. Like about a friend going through a divorce from an alcoholic and verbally abusive spouse. In the dream, this friend is with their ex and friends of the ex in a large empty barn. Friend tries to get away from the ugliness and drunkenness of the others, but they pursue in a stumbling, drunk fashion. Then friend sees a long, tall staircase built of hay bales along the side wall of the barn. Friend climbs the bales to the middle height, and the drunk pursuers fail to see anyone up that high. The drunks look at ground level in the large, empty part below, and it appears they want to find and torment my friend. Then friend starts the second half of the long climb up toward a small open door at the top where sunlight is shining through and providing light at the top corner. Loose hay on the bales causes friend to slide back down a few bales, so friend stays at the middle height. Then I pray to take friend's place and climb higher for them. God allows this, and I also climb and slip back down because of loose hay on bale stairway; but I make progress slowly and reach the top height. When I am about to reach down and pull friend up and help them through the small, open door -- the dream is over. Strange dream? It is also strange that after this dream came a feeling that my friend must leave their ex permanently or it can cost them their life! After this dream I became very supportive of a quick divorce!
