I'm so sorry she's having a difficult time! I hope she has a good counselor and people around her supporting her and loving her!

Prayers said! I have considered ECT myself. I feel for you mom and hope she gets better and the depression lifts soon!

I will definitely keep her in my prayers! Depression is such a difficult thing to try to manage, since it is a chemical imbalance in the brain and medical science is still exploring and making discoveries about the brain and its endless wonders. Winged hugs being sent to your mom, dad, and to you for the strength to see her thru this.

She just needs to realize that things will get better and when you are in the grip of depression that can be hard to realize. May healing come soon.

Aww, I'm sorry, ((( Lori))). Do the docs know why the meds aren't helping her? Could it be something more than depression? Maybe it's something physcial? Has she had extensive testing to rule all possibilities out? Do you know when the depression started, and if it is linked to something in particular? If so, then maybe some counseling could intervene, and help her get through the cause of her depression? I hope your mom finds help soon, Lori! Depression is very sad LK

Lori? Can you tell me what kind of medications she has tried? I myself am suffering from depression really bad because of a loved one that commited suicide this year in our home & i have been going through hell. Right now i have been changed over to Abilify which is keeping my head above water right now, not to say i am healed, far from it but at least i am getting through a day better than i was. Alot of these anti depressents make a person kinda loopy & off balance like the Cymbalta REALLY had me bumping off the walls & the Paxil as well..was taking both together. In elderly people they have to be very careful with meds because they fall easily. Don't EVEN consider shock treatment or anything like that..she will NEVER be the same afterwards. I hope she can get the proper meds to help her poor thing. Prayers being said.
