Re: Power surge ..
I don't know. It was sunny out Friday morning. It does that upon occasion. My DVR recorder had been going anyway. I never dared shut it off because I had problems getting it to stay turned on. I did the setup correctly Friday after work but it wasn't working so I had to call tech support and lo and behold they had an opening between 5 and 7 p.m. The tech who came out gave me a new cable box and asked me if I wanted to switch from coaxial to HDMI cables so I said yes. The picture is so much clearer as long as you're not too close to the TV. Then everything gets muddy. Honestly when did TVs become computers? It was fine Friday and Saturday but yesterday I had a box pop up that said if you don't press the select button on your remote your TV will turn off to conserve energy. I had to go the cable settings and turn off the energy saver setting! The only nuisance is that it doesn't stay on the HDMI setting, it reverts to the TV setting when the TV is turned off. I have to select input on the TV remote, arrow down to HDMI and select it. Oh, and I found out something from the tech guy. I don't know if this is the case for all cable companies but for mine he said that if you call between 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and you need a tech to come out they can slot you in for the 5 p.m.-7 p.m. slot the same day. Now that I think of it, though, I wonder if that's only for Fridays or if it's every day. Cathy
