Re: Getting to know you...
I'm a year over my full retirement age but still working. I love reading, especially cozy mysteries and thrillers by Stephen King and Dean Koontz, watching medical shows like ER and House, word jumble puzzles and crossword puzzles. I used to cook a lot more before I had birds. Since they were always out when I was home I never used the stove burners. I cooked meals in the oven, steamer, microwave or crock pot. I like to try my own recipes but they never work out the way that I think that they will. I learned a hack years ago for boiling pasta without leaving it on a heated burner. I bring a large pot of water to a hard boil, put the pasta in, stir, cover it, let it get to almost boiling over then move it off of the burner and turn the burner off. I let the pot sit covered for an hour and when that's up I take the lid off the pasta and its completely cooked. Thankfully that's one thing that was never a threat for Shiloh, hot burners. Cathy
