We thought we had beat that river the first go-around. We did our damndest and fought as hard as we could. But that ol' Mouse came back with a vengeance and kicked our butts. For now anyways...we'll get through this!
We haven't seen any boat tour footage of my parents' neighborhood. They say the water has been moving so fast through there and the water is so high making the power lines so low that they can't safely get the boats into that area. From the little bit of aerial photo I have found, it appears that they probably had water into their second story. My brother partially evacuated, but the water stayed about 1 1/2 blocks from his house.
In the video link, there is a guy that says he didn't know how to get his stuff all out. But he did. He sat down, said a prayer, and moments later a Canadian church group pulled up with trucks and trailers and emptied his house. He had been out of town and didn't know what was happening.
The last frame is really hard for me...my parents won't be going home.
