I know that this message is what I have to accept into my life right now. Except for the three and a half years I spent teaching, my finances have been rather precarious since I lost my mining job in October 1995.
But whenever I get to the bottom of the rope, I am gifted with a new source of income that provides for my needs. However, I know I can't sit on my rear expecting it to drop in my lap. I have to go looking for it.
So, I have been actively looking for work. Just this morning I had an interview with a coal company and I think it went fairly well. Although the fellow I saw this morning weeds out applicants, the mine site superintendent makes the final decision. If I make the first cut, I should have a in-person or phone interview by the end of November.
Some of my fellow classmates from my undergraduate days are also circulating my resume. Keep yout fingers crossed for me. In the meantime, I will wait on the door to open.
