The Vision has never been the same. The Scarlet Witch has turned into every rogue writers girl on the side. It's too bad. Sure, it opened her up to other relationships or could have but instead, she goes through them like a pile driver. She use to be the only stable super heroine in the series. Jan was always the flighty one. Ms. Marvel? Miss Independence. Mantis? Don't get me started.
Now Wanda is a wreak once again and doing some really odd things. I mean getting together with Clint doesn't have to be a bad thing? It is just putting them together like this? It is so out of character for them both. It's the same way they put Wanda and Simon together in his series that one time. Can't they at least try to be original and realistic? Does this already say, doomed at the start? I guess I respect both of their characters enough to hope for a little maturity down the line. Especially when your friendship could be at stack over all of this?
Yeah, life changes us all. Reality sucks but re-runs are even worse.
Eastbay mentioned when Wanda and Pietro went off to Wundergore. One of my favorite moments between Wanda and the Vision is when she calls him from the Pier before their ship sails off. Vision is trying to ask her if she will miss him and she re-assures him that she will. It was just cute the way he worked so hard to avoid a direct question in that conversation. Perhaps the intimacy of it was just nice and yes, Byrne wrote it. He also tore up the Vision, destroyed their children and created that mess that ended up as a psuedo-relationship between the Scarlet Witch and Wonderman. I only say that because it was put together with the intension of it failing.
If Simon really loved her that much, or as much as they liked to say he did, he would have stayed with the Avengers. The writers just couldn't be creative enough to give him enough good things to do with the team. Besides, it is so much better to make the Scarlet Witch go crazy again so she can screw-up the universe. Why be original? Doesn't that plot always end up the same way?
She breaks down and some guy comes along to try and make everything all better? It gets old after a time. That's all. I can just imagine now, Agatha Harkness spinning around madly in her crazy rocking chair, driving herself mad! How can she not be going crazy over all this re-hashing stuff? Just going 'round, and 'round and 'round, like an out of control top. It makes a good visual though?
