Magneto's kids (all of them) were all portayed for a very long time as being with Magneto only because one of a dozen stupid plot devices, manipulations, and other BS excuses the writers kept coming up with to explain them going back and fighting for him. Basically Magneto was portayed as the big bad monster using the nice kindly young adults and yet they kept coming back to be used over and over again. It seems in this one from the sketches we have that his kids are likely going to be portayed much more as very gray characters like they are today, instead of pure good guys being minipulated by a pure bad guy. The writers pulled the same crap with Lorna and not just in her origional appearence pre-retcon. The writer of Dark Seduction tried to pawn off Polaris being on Genosha and working with him on something as utterly stupid as "being addicted to Magneto's power like a drug". Of course that stupid notion was forgotten about by the time Eve of Destruction came along where Lorna was somehow back as a part of the Genoshan government again like she never left and later Austen managed to complete the erasure of that stupid plot point by writing she was there because she was starting to believe in his mission. There is this desire to wipe the slate of Magneto's kids off on dad after any bad thing they do as if he was somehow responsable for everything bad they have done. Or as Scarlet Witch said "Pietro was right you destoryed us before we had a chance".
