Posted by Attok12 on 11/4/2006, 11:11 am Of course, the stuff with Captain America, admittedly, was a bit odd, but I thought it all made sense after I finished reading the issue and thought about everything I read. One thing I liked was that I liked seeing Cap and Wanda together as a couple, something I would have enjoyed to see happen in the regular universe had Priest's original Cap&Falcon plans not been derailed. And also oddly enough, it could still turn out in the 616 reality that Parker's story did happen, only the end result was different. At the end of this issue, Strange explained that, in all realities, including 616, Cap's mind was restored. On Earth 616, Cap moved on to form the New Avengers and is still doing his usual thing. Meanwhile, Wanda is living a peaceful life in Europe somewhere. Since her sense of reality is affected by those around her, and since Wanda is currently living in a place surrounded by simple, peaceful folk, she herself has become a simple, peaceful person. Lopresti's art was great as usual. I wouldn't mind seeing him draw MS.MARVEL if Rob de la Torre ever left. I know most people didn't think much of this little What If? tale, but I enjoyed it well enough. I do, however, prefer the original story as it was told and would rather have it remain as is than have it turn out later that Cap was involved in the whole thing.

I just finished reading this story, and I must say that I enjoyed it very much. Of course, what helped me enjoy it was the fact that I enjoyed the original Avengers Disassembled tale to begin with, so it was a treat to see the events revisited throughout this tale. I thought Jeff Parker did a nice job coming up with the reasons why one certain event and the next one happened. I once speculated back in the day that the Dr. Strange we saw in the storyline wasn't real, that he was just an illusion of Wanda's, and that was what happened in this What If? tale. Even Magneto taking Wanda from the Avengers was all her, as I once considered.
