Ryan, my first Princeps came from Collector Palms and you'd be so proud of it now! That was back at a time when most vendors barely had Princeps seeds to offer for sale, and you were selling actual seedlings. Well, your seedling is "kickin butt" (pardon the French) here in Atlanta 3 years later. That is a very nice looking palm. I love the colour. Cheers, Joe Southern Gulf Islands, zone 8b/9a Dry Springs & Summers months and mild wet winters.Annual precip. approx. 30" inches, Extreme winter min. temps. usually not below 20 F.

I just wanted to add that I purchased some from Ryan (thanks!) and they are the real thing. Highly recommended Ebayer. Out of three I have one survivor, mainly due to ignorance of its needs on my own part. My survivor has been subjected to severe frost (in the pot 20 F multiple times), 103 F heat in the sun and high desert conditions in general in Central NM. It lost a spear but with Peroxide, a shave and TLC it came back. I am hoping it is the Princeps with genes for this climate. My other Trachys are thriving (Naga, nana, and fortunei). I think I killed the other two with too much water. As they are cliff palms they need good draining even here in the high desert, apparently, especially in pots like I have found. We need more zone data on this palm. Mine is surviving in the desert. How is yours? Thanks, Ryan for providing plants some of us would never be able to obtain otherwise!
