My Butias are not green at all - they are all rather blueish (I grow them in Okeechobee, FL) May be the type of soil has something to do with the color ? Mine is mostly sand but even so in rainy season Butias are in a couple of inches of standing water..
I have little confidence that Butia Capitata will be a long term survivor in this super wet and humid climate.. they are known here to develop bud rot.
