My favorite Palm reference book, Odenwald & Turner’s text “Plants in the Southern Landscape” actually rated the Med Palm as a Zone 9 plant. That is not far off, as they really don’t like temps below 17 degrees (and don’t like damp winter environments like we have in the Southeast).
