Today marked my mid-Summer application. I like to use spikes. It has been so dry that I took the extra time to apply some water to each spike that was driven into the ground. Hammering a pilot hole with a Pry Bar made it a lot easier to then drive the spikes in.
Due to some significant hardwood tree removal by my neighbors and me, I am noticing that the extra sun exposure perhaps depletes some nutrients in my palms (with a touch of yellowing); again perhaps suggesting more fertilizer is needed. Each palm has different light and nutrient requirements, of course.
