Hey everyone, just wanted to check in since I have a little time. Life is busy for me which is why you don't see me much anymore. 3 active kids, I am a coach of multiple basketball and baseball teams, and I have been traveling quite a bit with a new job.
I'm sure you all feel your weather sucks as much as mine, and my garden has definitely gotten off to a slow start despite starting relatively early, but with all the rain, I lost a lot of stuff due to rot.
All of the pics didn't load right on Imgur but I now have 5 in-ground figs including Sal's, Brown Turkey, Olympia, Celeste and Calabrian Green with 3 more in pots. Cannas are about to bloom too but it looks like those pics missed the cut.
Anyway, here goes...a lot of stuff jus coming into bloom including agapanthus with no flowers yet...a few days.
Some plantings in my new lasagna bed including Fred's grandma's hibiscus, and I moved a couple crapes in there.
One of the yucca patches. Two gloriosa hybrids and a glauca
Imgur doesn't upload the lics in the order I took them, but some tomatos
Philo, A. wentii, and I found a Bletilla striata bulb for $7

More agapantus about to bloom, a Bizzie I bought for $5 end of season last year, and you will see all of my crapes died to the ground this year except Victor.
Another view of the desert bed
Tough to see in the shade, but the 2 yuccas on the left are from Rob. I also acquired a recurv among other things from Jim Kelly in NJ as a result of him losing a bet.
Thai Black got off to a terrible start. My family tried to kill them over the winter, and I brought them out prematurely where I received a lot of rot and dieback. This one was supped to be a 10 footer to start the year.
2 more yuccas from Rob in N TN. They have been moved a few times and should start growing well now.
Lots of stuff that needs to start growing
Transplanted a lot into this bed as well
One of my new favorite fruit crops. Nothing beats a homegrown canteloupe
Crocosmia just starting to bloom
New lasagna bed on the right
Already extending it for next season
Trachy is in bad shape and growing very slowly...
Collards, one of my faves
Zucchini, cukes and Indian corn
Sadly, my largest basjoos, about 7' tall
Tough to tell but I have lots of peppers planted in the landscape, including 3 Carolina Reapers, 2 Trinidad Scorpions, 7 ghosts, peach hosts, habanadas (a heatless habanero) Datil, Mad Hatter, lots of habaneros, poblanos, Anaheims, Sugar Rush Peach, lots of bells of various colors, jalapenos, banana peppers, and many more...I believe I am at around 45 pepper plants this year.
Rob set me a mimosa stick a couple of years ago...
