It was trunking fast before the pruning but I've noticed that when Trachys get whacked back hard they slow down and need to restock the lost fronds before trunking as fast again . I know that from cutting off a lot fronds that were decent but not perfect , and from defibering too fast as well .
For trunking , it's best to let them grow naturally even if that means leaving a few uglier fronds on them . I've solved the problem by allowing most of my Trachys to start forming skirts .
