Re: Subtropical vs Temperate limits
It seems to depend on where you are. Southern California can grow many tropical and temperate zone plants. In the town of Toowoomba, Australia, they can grow both foxtail palms and Colorado Blue Spruce. Central Florida has a very difficult climate. We are too warm for many temperate species and too cold for tropical ones.
There must be some people pushing the limits of cold climate species into warmer areas.
